Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-08
This policy explains what this NextSSH installation stores about you. NextSSH is self-hosted: your data is held by the Operator on the Operator’s own server, not by the software’s authors.
1. What is stored
Account data: your email address and a salted password hash. Connection profiles you create: host, port, username, and credentials and private keys, encrypted. Settings, saved macros, saved queries and clipboard history you choose to keep. Metadata about your sessions (when they started and ended and from which device name).
2. What is not stored
Terminal input and output are not written to logs. Session logs hold metadata only. Decrypted passwords and keys exist in memory only while a connection is being set up.
3. Encryption
Saved secrets are encrypted with a per-user key derived from your password. The Operator can see that a connection exists but cannot read its secrets without your password.
4. Who can see what
You see only your own records. The Operator’s administrators can see account details, session counts and connection activity such as which device names are connected, in order to run the service.
5. Cookies and local storage
A session cookie keeps you signed in. Your browser also stores preferences such as theme, language and window layout. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used on this site.
6. Sharing
Your data is not sold or shared with third parties by the software. Connections go only to the servers you configure. Email, if the Operator enables it, is used for account notices.
7. Retention and deletion
Records remain until you or an administrator delete them. Session logs are removed after the retention period the Operator configures. Ask the Operator to delete your account and its data.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Contact the Operator of this installation to exercise them.
